Give your 3D printed objects the look and feel of real wood using this 1.75mm Laywood 3D Printer Filament from Monoprice!
Laywood is an extrusion material made from 40% recycled wood combined with polymer binders to allow it to melt and print like any other material. It doesn't warp, doesn't shrink, and doesn't require a heated print bed. The finished product can be sanded like ordinary wood and even smells like wood. The color can be varied from light to dark by increasing the printing temperature through its 190 ~ 220°C printing temperature range.

I absolutely love this wood filament! It took me a while to figure out the best settings for what I was doing with it and have gone through a whole roll trying to figure it out. Now that I believe I've got it right, hopefully my future prints will be spot on without wasting as much as I did this first time. I'm back for more and also plan to get the walnut color along with my next order. For me, I found it works best to use a raft. When I printed directly on the build plate, the plastic-y part seemed to settle at the bottom and is very hard to sand it off. I wasn't able to.
Printing with this material looks good. Follows PLA settings for most part. Recommend NOT keeping stored on printer when not being used as the material becomes a bit brittle and easily breaks when not being moved/printed for a couple of days, which requires a reload of material in any regard.
The print turned out fine . It required more scraping then your other filaments. The problem was that it did not come off the reel without overlapping which caused binding. Had to estimate the amount needed and rewind..jay see
This filament extrudes and sticks as well as regular PLA. However the end result is pretty brittle, and feels a little like balsa wood. If you're printing something with supports, you have to be pretty careful removing them if you want to preserve finer details.
Prints well at 195 and 30 bed temp. Don't go to thin on your walls or filament can be very brittle. (I posted pictures on my review on amazon.com)
