Music on, outside world off.
The Monolith™ M1060C is the new all-rounder among studio headphones. These headphones have been completely redesigned and, with the new symmetrical magnet architecture, offer an incredibly professional sound experience with super lightweight comfort.
Hear only what you want to hear.
The new completely revised design offers you incomparable wearing comfort thanks to the large ear cushions made of artificial leather and the padded headband, which makes hours of studio and listening sessions possible without any problems. The new technical architecture also brings with it industry-leading audio isolation, so that external noises stay outside and internal noises stay inside. This means you can completely focus on your music even in slightly busier environments, without disturbing other people.
The audio drivers of tomorrow.
With the planar audio drivers, Monolith completely revolutionises the individual adaptation of your sound experience. The new driver is tuned from scratch and exclusively to the new symmetrical magnetic structure, which allows the planar driver to use the closed housing much more efficiently. This ensures significantly less distortion, improves linearity many times over and offers incomparable spatial imaging in a closed housing.

Comfort, quality, i can use the in my own recording studio... I am very Happy to use them! I can ear a lot of details, very nice, thank you!
When I listen to dub reggae and other bass-led music I like to hear a dominant bass without it cancelling out the mids and highs. I've tried EQing my Sundaras and HD-6XXs but the bass just isn't enough. I tried some Skull Candy Crushers and Beats (unknown model) and the mids & highs were laughable. These headphones suit me perfectly for the times I want listen to bassy music. The bass is tight, not flabby.
Build quality is very good, puts my Sundaras to shame but not bombproof like my Sennys and Beyers. The carrying case is 100% great.
I have a small narrow head, the comfort is great, 2 hour listening sessions are not fatiguing at all.
The real-wood backs of the M1060C look really cool and give an up-market, solid-chic feel.. They are also quite heavy and have nice thick pads that surround the ears in a pleasing way. Sound isolation is pretty good - I can enjoy my music while a TV is blasting away in the same room.
Soundwise: the M1060C starts off as dark and enveloping. Big, fat, weighty bass and smooth mids really wrapping you in an audio experience. After about 10 hours burn-in the treble came up to be very detailed but never harsh. Then you realise that these are planar drivers with that airy, spacious, effortless detail and a beautifully-defined soundstage that is remarkably wide and -out-of-the-head for closed-back headphones.
Playing Jarre's 'Equinoxe', the M1060C gave a load of power in the bass, 'Monolith' is a good name for these as the bottom end is like solid marble: heavy, subtly-defined and smooth.
Bottom line: the M1060C is a truly satisfying closed-back that combines rich darkness with a sharp, wide-screen definition.
So impressed that I bought the Monolith M1070 a week later - also a truly stunning headphone.
Awesome in their own niche. Not all music's better with them, but the songs that do benefit, they sound awesome. They do benefit from a headphone amp and respond very well to EQ - both things extend the range of great sounding music.
